6 Cool Things To Do In London With Little Kids – jan/feb 2017

LOOK, It’s cold outside. And as much as we love going to the park, there’s only so much of it I can stand in this weather. So I’ve found my self staying in more and getting really irritated because bored children just attack adults and my kids are just not the type to want to stay in. Anyway, with that in mind I managed to find some pretty cool things to do over the next month or so that I think we are all going to enjoy! So if you’re in London and looking for something different to do with your little ones, check these bad boys out!

Go Raving!

Yeh you read right! Why should “brukkin’ out” be a thing of the past just because we are parents? If you still wanna rave it up, you can take the kids with you!

Big Fish Little Fish family raves put on events all over the UK but over the next month or so they have raves in King Cross, Balham and Hackney. Aimed at families with children under the age of 8 but all ages very much welcome, so check them out NOW! I can’t wait to buss some moves.

Do the Robot!

I don’t know any one who doesn’t like robots! But how cool is this? Wait for it……………….

A temporary exhibition of robot animals made from machine parts and gadgets to replicate how real creatures actually work. The exhibition is on at the Horniman Museum from 11th February – October 2017. The Horniman is one of our favourite places, they have a little farm, interactive displays, an aquarium and a fun music room! They have a lovely outdoor space with gorgeous views of the city. You can really make a day of it here. Most of the museum is free apart from the aquarium and this awesome exhibition. GET TICKETS NOW.

And if you are REALLY serious about robots, the Science Museum have an exhibition telling the story of humanoid robots and showing over 100 different models! It starts on the 8th February – September 2017.

See the lights!

Starting on the 19th January 2017 the Magical Lantern Festival looks like it’s going to be… well MAGICAL. Not only will be there be fascinating trails of wonderful lanterns to look at, there will also be an ice rink, fun fair rides, food and drink and an ICE BAR. Its only on in London for 5 weeks and tickets are selling fast so BOOK NOW!

Celebrate Chinese New Year

On 28th January, The National Gallery are running some workshops to celebrate Chinese new year, make a head-dress or even a rooster! It’s FREE so I suspect it might get full quickly, get there early. They are also showing performances of “Tales from the shed” by Chickenshed Theatre these are free too but you do need to book tickets at least 24 hours in advance.

Or… Why not head down to the V&A Museum of Childhood in bethnal green on the 11th February? It’s FREE and no need to book. See traditional dance performances and get involved with mask making, costume and calligraphy workshops. There is something for everyone!

Got any cool events that can be added to this list? Let me know in the comments below!
